One of the key principles at Ace is consistency. We both want your child to succeed, and to ensure that success, consistency is very important. It not only offers the repetition that your child needs to retain the academic material but it also offers the type of structure necessary for him/her to be efficient in multiple areas of life. Allowing your child the additional practice at least two times a week can make a world of difference.
Here at Ace Academic Tutoring we believe that the fundamental goals of teaching are to encourage learning
and to create a passion for learning, both inside and outside of the classroom. Learning takes place
in many different circumstances and environments. Although everyone is capable of learning, a student’s
desire and willingness to learn is a vital pre-condition to effectively mastering new concepts and skills.
Children have multiple learning styles: some are motivated by discussion, some by demonstration,
and other absorb best when they read and reflect on what they have read. To teach everyone
the same way hinders the learning process. The classroom setting can encourage or inhibit
learning depending on the prominent learning style of each student. Evaluating and finding that
individual learning style is critical to reach the student’s optimum learning potential.
Understanding and accommodating those different learning styles creates an atmosphere that is
conducive to learning. At Ace we treat subject matter as interconnected, emphasizing that everything
students are learning fits together into a holistic understanding of the world, from which they develop
their own worldview, hopefully giving them more of an incentive to continue learning.
Finally, we believe that respect for our students is one of the most important things
we can show – not only to encourage their openness to the material we are reinforcing,
but also to inspire them to respect each other and the world around them.
